Erin Fogarty Owen
President of Clarity Channels Communications + Founder and Lead Writer of The EO Report
Omaha native Erin Fogarty Owen has played a strategic role in some of the biggest moments in politics and news, where she honed her ability to solve problems quickly, deliver logical communications solutions efficiently, and think critically to ask the questions that help anticipate future challenges.
In the political arena, Erin started as a receptionist for Sen. Bob Kerrey, and she progressed to roles like assistant communications director, co-leading Kerrey's advance team to the 1996 Chicago Convention and creating a statewide public affairs cable show called "Kerrey & Company."
Erin served as a TV news producer on Tim Russert's team at “Meet the Press” and NBC News. She covered major events from the Bush vs Gore Supreme Court election case to the attacks on the United States on 9/11. Erin was on Capitol Hill when a plane flew into the Pentagon, and she quickly joined Russert’s newsroom team to help report news about the attacks and ended the week at Camp David where Russert interviewed Vice President Dick Cheney.
After a storied career in Washington, D.C., Erin moved back to her hometown of Omaha and put her skills to work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she helped establish a comprehensive strategic communications unit that proudly and loudly told the incredible story of a leading American Metropolitan University.
Erin's strategic experiences have led to the creation of Clarity Channels Communications, where she is a champion for her clients, and she shares insights about the field in The EO Report, a weekly newsletter for Strategic Communication Pros.
